The Cyprus Fiduciary Association organised four (4) independent full-day workshops (7 hours), titled “Daily Challenges of a Compliance Officer & The Role of the Board of Directors in Compliance” (3 & 10 March, Cleopatra Hotel, Nicosia and 4 & 11 March, St Raphael Resort, Limassol). The instructor of the workshops was Mr. Nicos Pavlides, Director of NAP Regulatory Compliance Services Ltd.
The workshops were divided into two parts:
Part A – Daily Challenges of a Compliance Officer (5 hours)
Part B – The Role of the Board of Directors in Compliance (2 hours)
The objective of Part A was to provide a hands-on workshop on the application of the relevant legislation and regulation in practice, having the daily challenges of the compliance officer in mind. This part principally consisted of scenarios and case-studies covering a number of centrally important themes which the instructor worked through with the participants in small groups.
The objective of Part B was to discuss with Directors how they perceive their role and the role of the compliance function and provide an overview of the role of the Board of Directors in fostering and maintaining in compliance, according to law and best practices.
The seminar was addressed to Compliance Officers and Directors of regulated entities: Administrative Services Providers, Accounting, Audit and Tax firms, Law firms, Trust Services, Banks and other financial institutions.
