On Friday, 17 May 2013, the Cyprus Fiduciary Association held its 1st Annual General Meeting at the Mediterranean Beach Hotel in Limassol.
The Annual General Meeting was honoured by the presence of the Minister of Finance, Mr Harris Georgiades, as well as representatives of the Cyprus Securities & Exchange Commission. In his greeting to the AGM, the Minister referred to the difficult economic conditions we are currently facing in our country but stated his and the government’s determination and will to work on ensuring that the professional services sector in Cyprus will soon overcome the difficulties. On behalf of the Cyprus Securities & Exchange Commission, the Head of the Legal Department, Ms Eva Ioannou, referred to the excellent cooperation of the Commission with the Cyprus Fiduciary Association and wished as the Association will increase in numbers in order to strengthen the voice of the Administrative Service Providers for the benefit of the fiduciary sector. The speech by the President of the Cyprus Fiduciary Association, Mr George Savvides, described the activities, objectives and future plans of the Association. Additionally, Mr Savvides spoke about the current economic situation and how it affects the fiduciary services sector, and described a series of measures that could help revive the Cyprus economy.
The meeting ended with the adoption and approval of the financial statements of the Cyprus Fiduciary Association. There were no changes in the Board of Directors.
